Compartment Fire Behavior at the Stages of Detection, Containment and Suppression Using Water Mist

This paper presents experimental research findings regarding the characteristics of fire safety equipment activation before and after a water-based suppression system is triggered. A group typical indoor combustible materials (wood, linoleum, cardboard, paper) were used to construct Class model fires in experiments. The three most frequent causes reproduced: careless handling (open flame), unsafe operation heating electrical short circuits. To identify behavior, an automated including (heat, smoke, flame) detectors, contact non-contact temperature measurement instruments, gas analysis video recording was employed. Following experiments, efficient (in terms detection speed reliability) combinations technical that are necessary sufficient all combustion stages substances determined. consumption fire-extinguishing agent found be possible when development controlled.
